The American dream

I think that the American Dream is significant in the Great Gatsby. This book shows that the American Dream is unachievable. People think that if they work very hard, they'll have everything they want. But the truth is you still aren't happy with yourself, and what you have. So you keep wanting more which you're never gonna get. Each character in the Great Gatsby, represents the American Dream. For example, Daisy and Tom represents what everyone in the lower class wants to be. But they're still very unhappy with each other, and their life. Then there's Gatsby who works very hard, and he gets everything he wants. The characters in the book, represents a different side of the American Dream.

  1. I like how you interpreted what the character means. Also how you tied the characters to the idea of American dream and it's significance.

  2. I love how you centered your post around Gatsby because he does indeed, portray the American dream. Even if you have the world in your hands, you'll yearn for the universe.
